Welcome to the
Able Backflow Academy.

Our classroom has been approved by the California-Nevada Section of the American Water Works Association (Section).

The classroom can seat up to 30 applicants for written examinations. Our classroom features a large LCD monitor upon which Power Point® presentations are shown. Additionally, a dry erase board is used to assist the instructor in making points about the material.

The classroom is air conditioned with comfortable chairs and plenty of table space so each student can spread out the reference materials provided to each student by the Academy.

The wet lab is indoors and features a test stand and test gauge for each student of the 40-hour Tester Course. Participants in the Tester Refresher classes will each have a test stand upon which to practice. Every test stand is capable of simulating the various conditions that may be found when working in the field – leaking check valves, malfunctioning relief valves and air inlet valves, and leaking shutoff valves.

The Able Backflow Academy was developed for the purpose of teaching cross-connection control. This is a school – a school founded with the intent of producing competent technicians in the field of cross-connection control.
